Safety and Trust
How the Atlanta chat line stays private, controlled and adults only.
Your privacy is the default setting
There is nothing to switch on. From the moment you dial, your phone number is hidden from every other caller on the line.
There is no public profile, no photo and no username attached to you. Other callers hear your greeting and whatever you decide to say in conversation. Nothing else about you is visible to them, and nothing about you is searchable by anyone.
What you share is entirely your call. Your first name, your side of town, where you work, your number: none of it leaves your mouth unless you decide to say it, and there is no pressure to say any of it on a first conversation.
Nobody sees your number
Hidden from the first second of the call. Not a preference you have to find and enable.
You control every connection
You pick which greetings to hear, which messages to answer and which live calls to accept. Nothing connects without you.
Moderated and adults only
Every caller must be 18 or older. Moderators remove callers who ignore another person's boundaries.
What you can do on any call
You do not have to wait for a moderator to handle a caller you do not want to deal with. The controls sit with you first.
- Skip. A greeting that does not land takes one keypress to move past. You never have to hear the rest of it.
- End the call. No explanation owed to anyone. Hang up and the conversation is over.
- Block. A blocked caller cannot reach you again on the line, including with messages.
- Report. Report a caller during or right after a conversation and a moderator reviews it. Blocking someone is not rude and it is not a big decision. Callers do it constantly. The line works because nobody is stuck in a conversation they want out of.
Adults only, without exception
AtlantaChatline is an adult service. Every caller must be 18 years of age or older, and by calling you are confirming that you are.
Anyone found to be under 18 is removed from the line permanently. If you believe a caller is a minor, report it. This is the one thing we would rather hear about ten times than miss once.
Staying safe when a call goes further
Plenty of conversations that start on the line end up somewhere else. That is the point. A few habits are worth keeping anyway.
- Take your time with personal details. Your last name, your street, where you work and where your kids go to school are not first conversation material. There is no rush.
- Move to your own number when you are ready, not when you are asked. Someone pushing hard for your number early is telling you something useful about themselves.
- Meet somewhere public the first time. A coffee shop, a restaurant, somewhere with staff and other people around. Daytime is easier than late night.
- Get yourself there and back. Drive yourself or take your own ride. Not being dependent on someone for a way home keeps the evening yours to end.
- Tell one person where you are going. A friend with the name, the place and roughly when you expect to be done.
- Trust the feeling. If something is off, leave. You do not need it to make sense first, and you do not owe anyone an explanation.
No surprises on the billing side
Trust is not only about who is on the line. It is also about what happens to your card.
- No card to try the line. The free trial for men needs no payment details at all. It runs out and stops.
- Women are never billed. Not a trial, not a promotion, no card on file at any point.
- Nothing renews quietly. Time you buy is time you buy. There is no subscription running in the background.
